concerts | 2nd November 2019
The New York Staff Band will be hosting the World’s #1 brass band, The Cory Band, and sharing the stage at the Centennial Memorial Temple (120 W. 14th St.) in New York City on November 2, 2019.
Cory is thrilled to be returning to the USA for the first time since 2016, this year as reigning European, British Open, Brass in Concert and UK Band of the Year Champions. The programme tonight will be everything you expect from this world-leading band, and much more. Cory will perform its award-winning Romeo and Juliet set, retelling William Shakespeare’s famous tragic tale like you’ve never heard it before, taking you on a roller-coaster ride of the senses which will make you laugh and make you cry, but most of all will leave you speechless with awe at Cory’s blistering performance. On top of that, Cory will also perform Hermann Pallhuber’s Titan’s Progress, an epic brass band major work based on Mahler’s 1st Symphony which Cory will have played at the UK National Finals at London’s Royal Albert Hall just a few weeks beforehand. If you want to hear the best band in the world primed and contest-ready, this will be the piece for you!
Cory and the NYSB will join forces for the final part of the concert in what is sure to be a blockbusting finale to an incredible night. Book early to avoid disappointment!
