The Cory Band is disappointed to announce that due to several confirmed positive cases of coronavirus within the band, it is in the best interest of everyone involved to cancel their two planned concerts this week.
The band was due to be performing with Pendyrus Male Choir this Thursday 9th December at St Peter’s Church, Pentre and all ticket holders booked through the band’s website have been notified of ticket arrangements. Anyone that booked tickets through the choir will be contacted directly by their representatives.
Cory was also due to return to St Mary’s Church, Bridgwater this coming Sunday 12th December and thanks to the support of the church this concert will be rescheduled for Sunday 27th March 2022. Alll tickets for this concert will remain valid for the new date, but individual ticket holders can request a full refund if this new date is not convenient.
Band Manager, Neil Blockley commented “We are really sorry to have to cancel these two concerts at short notice but these are the uncertain times that we now operating in. The health of our members, the choristers and audience is of paramount importance and under the circumstances we cannot risk these concerts proceeding. We are really grateful for the understanding and support from Pendyrus Male Choir and both venues who are also impacted by this decision, but we look forward to performing with Pendyrus and returning to Bridgwater in March 2022. We apologise for any inconvenience caused but most importantly we wish our affected members a speedy full recovery.”
Musical Director, Philip Harper commented “I fully endorse the cancellation of our final concerts of the year, it is disappointing that our performance year has come to a premature end, but I’m so grateful with the positive nature and successful way that the band members have returned to activity since May with successful concert, recording and contest performances. We wish all our members, supporters and their families a happy and healthy Christmas and New Year and we look forward to seeing them in 2022 and in particular showcasing our award winning Treasure Island set to audiences near and far!”
